Tr'ondëk Hwëch'in Regional Economic Development Plan
What does economic development mean to you?
The final phase of the Tr'ondëk Hwëch'in Regional Economic Development Plan (REDP) is underway. Once complete, the plan will promote sustainable economic development for all residents and commercial interests within TH Traditional Territory.
Phases I to III of the project have already been completed and include the following:
- Social, demographic and economic scan of the economy in Tr'ondëk Hwëch'in Traditional Territory.
- Assessment of the potential for development in the sectors of communication, culture, transportation, agriculture, energy, renewable and non-renewable resources and tourism in Tr'ondëk Hwëch'in Traditional Territory.
- Community-based research to develop values framework as a basis to priorize the specific economic development initiatives identified in Task 2 according to Tr'ondëk Hwëch'in values and objectives as well as sustainable-development principles.
Next steps in the project will produce an economic-development and implementation plan. This task is the responsibility of an Oversight Committee composed of the following representatives from TH, Yukon, Canada, and the City of Dawson:

The economic-development and implementation plans will be developed by the following consultants:
