DESCRIPTION:Trapline Check Sundays\nBeginning February 9 • Meet at TH Hall • 10:00 am\nCitizens and families are welcome to join us as we head out to our traplines to check our harvest. We will travel via snow machine and be out for a full 7.5 hour day on the land. Participants should have their own snow machine and be prepared for back country travel. This includes packing gear\, appropriate clothing\, emergency supplies and food (a suggested packing list is available upon request; we will provide some snacks and light equipment.) Our team can supply a limited number of participants with snow machine rides to the trapline area. DESCRIPTION:Youth Recreation Camp is happening January 18-20 at Nänkäk Ch’ëholay (R-22)! \nAll youth ages 12-18 are invited to come get out on the land\, learn new skills\, and have some fun. We will meet at K’äjit-in Zho on January 18\, 2025 at 10:00 am with all of their belongings ready to go. We will be returning to town 1:00 pm on Monday January 20\, 2025. We will plan to drop off youth at their homes or call parents to pick them up K’äjit-in Zho. \nOur orientation meeting and gear check is on Wednesday\, January 15 at the K’äjit-in Zho starting at 5:00.  This is essential\, as we need to ensure that we have the proper equipment\, and everyone knows what is expected of them. \nWe will be doing indoor and outdoor activities such as team building games\, snaring rabbits\, making spruce pitch\, snowshoeing and cross-country shelter building\, Han language games\, bingo\, scary stories around the fire\, and more. \nMore information and a registration form is available here.  \nFor questions\, drop by K’äjit-In Zho or call Dillan Taylor at (867) 993-7100 ext. 285.

However\, this Elders Tea will also be a great opportunity to hear about and collaborate in an open discussion about Yuhke Hwëdëk (Yooh-Kay Hweh-Deck)\, Northern Lights Story\, our community’s energy initiative.\n\n\n.\n\n\nOver tea and snacks\, there will be a short presentation about issues and opportunities related to the Yukon’s Integrated System (territorial electricity grid)\, which affects Citizens in both Whitehorse and Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in Traditional Territory. Additionally\, there will be opportunities to discuss topics such as renewable energy generation projects and types\, energy conservation and efficiency\, as well as our changing landscape.\n\n\n.\n\n\nDid we mention we will also be playing bingo for some unique prizes?
