We invite TH Citizens and the Dawson community to join us from 5pm to 6pm to watch a film\, learn about the issues\, and discuss what we can do to support.\n.\n📜On September 12 & 13\, members of the Kaska Nation will be in court appealing the decision that allowed the construction of Kudz Ze Kayah mine by BMC Minerals to proceed. This legal struggle addresses Aboriginal rights and title and affects the ability of the Kaska to exercise their inherent right to free\, prior and informed\nconsent (UNDRIP). In light of the Victoria Gold/Eagle Gold Mining disaster in Na-Cho Nyäk Dun territory\, Chief Dawna Hope called for a suspension of mining activity in NND territory. With new mining legislation on the horizon and the growing realities of rampant climate and biodiversity crises crystalizing\, many of us are struggling with what to do.\n.\n💚Join us in upholding the Kaska’s and the Na-Cho Nyäk Dun’s land protection efforts. Learn about Aboriginal title\, the history and on-going realities of resource extraction in the territory\, and how this affects all of us\, caribou people and non caribou alike.\nMähsį cho.
