SUMMARY:Log Cabin Building Course
DESCRIPTION:Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in and IPAC (Indigenous Protected and Conserved Areas) is providing an opportunity for TH citizens to participate in a log cabin building workshop. The plan is to have the finished cabin on the traditional territory for citizens and staff to experience outings that contribute to stewardship and reconnection to culture.  \n Log Cabin Level 1 will be tentatively offered October 16-22\, 2025. The level 1 will be an Introduction to dovetail construction with theory modules. What is dovetail? More straight forward than the timber frame\, it doesn’t require too many specialised tools and the style reflects our history on the land.  \nThe Log Cabin Level 2 course  will be offered at a later date to complete the construction. DESCRIPTION:Our Mobile Outreach initiative brings together the Wellness Team and Jëje Zho Outreach Workers to support community members in need. Together\, we provide harm reduction supplies and essentials like water\, food\, and hygiene products. You may have seen us over the summer at the festivals and this session will gives you an opportunity to let us know how you think the Mobile Outreach can continue to best serve the community. By meeting people where they’re at\, we’re able to offer not only practical supplies but also care\, connection\, and support when it’s needed most. \nWe will be hosting the session at the Jëje Zho on October 16th at 4:00 PM\, beverages and dinner will be provided. We have a list of questions to inspire conversation. However\, we are open to any suggestions that the community brings forward. DESCRIPTION:Implementation and Natural Resources are working on amendments to the TH Land and Resources Act\, as directed by the Spring 2025 General Assembly. Current efforts focus on improving the land allocation process on Settlement Land\, adding land protections\, and ensuring citizens have a voice in land use decisions.  \nThis engagement invites citizens to review key issues identified under the current Act and share feedback to guide development of a Consultation Draft later this year. At that stage\, we’ll seek more detailed input on the proposed amendments. Your participation is vital—please join us and share your vision for a renewed TH Land and Resources Act.

Centered on Tr’ëhudè and supported by community\, it helps you move from where you are to where you want to be—whether that’s earning your driver’s license\, entering trades or university\, improving academic skills\, or learning traditional practices like moose tanning. The program empowers participants to be confident\, grounded\, and ready to pursue their chosen paths with success.\n\n\n\nThis course is ideal for: All adults – looking to transition towards a learning goal\, be that personal\, educational\, or professional.\n\n\nDuration and format: January to December 2026\, face to face with flexible scheduling\, with classes interspersed with land based and community-based learning.\n\n\nOpen to all community members. Join us on Wednesday\, November 12 for an Information Dinner where we will present the program and ask any questions you may have.
