DESCRIPTION:Trapline Check Sundays\nBeginning February 9 • Meet at TH Hall • 10:00 am\nCitizens and families are welcome to join us as we head out to our traplines to check our harvest. We will travel via snow machine and be out for a full 7.5 hour day on the land. Participants should have their own snow machine and be prepared for back country travel. This includes packing gear\, appropriate clothing\, emergency supplies and food (a suggested packing list is available upon request; we will provide some snacks and light equipment.) Our team can supply a limited number of participants with snow machine rides to the trapline area. DESCRIPTION:New Workshop Announcement! \n\n\nCosmic Beading Workshop with Margaret Nazon \n\n\n\nWe are delighted to welcome Margaret Nazon from the Gwich’in First Nation in Tsiigehtchic for a beading workshop at the Dänojà Zho Cultural Centre (DZCC) on Tuesday\, February 18.\n\n\nThe workshop will run from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm with a maximum of 10 participants.\nPlease Call DZCC to register your spot!\n993-7100 ext. 500\n\n\n\nIn 2009\, the International Year of Astronomy\, Margaret began to use the traditional beadwork skills she had learned as a child to interpret Hubble space telescope images. Since then\, her work has been featured at exhibits at the Prince of Wales Northern Heritage Centre in Yellowknife\, Northwest Territories; the Glenbow Museum in Calgary\, Alberta; and as part of the University of Arizona’s Art of Planetary Science 2020 virtual gallery. DESCRIPTION:Trapline Check Sundays\nBeginning February 9 • Meet at TH Hall • 10:00 am\nCitizens and families are welcome to join us as we head out to our traplines to check our harvest. We will travel via snow machine and be out for a full 7.5 hour day on the land. Participants should have their own snow machine and be prepared for back country travel. This includes packing gear\, appropriate clothing\, emergency supplies and food (a suggested packing list is available upon request; we will provide some snacks and light equipment.) Our team can supply a limited number of participants with snow machine rides to the trapline area.
