Youth Rising Conference

2024 Indigenous Youth Rising Conference March 1-2, 2024 at MacEwan University in Edmonton, Alberta.

Formerly known as the Dreamcatcher Indigenous Youth Conference, this conference has been one of the largest of its kind in Canada for almost 30 years. Indigenous youth gather together and explore educational and career opportunities, celebrate culture, and develop new friendships. The conference will feature several guest speakers and a variety of workshops! All programming is designed to encourage Indigenous youth to pursue a balance of education and culture, to highlight Indigenous role models, and to support youth in realizing and pursuing their goals and gifts.

Open to Indigenous youth ages 12-17 years old. K’äjit-in Zho will be able to organize and support 12 TH youth to attend this wonderful conference. We will be collecting expressions of interest of TH youth that would like to and can commit to attending. We are looking for 8 youth within our Traditional Territory and 4 that reside outside of our Traditional Territory. We will be providing 2 chaperones for this event. Travel dates will be February 28-March 4. Registration, accommodation and meals will be provided. Families will be responsible for spending money for the youth as well as an ID type (healthcare card, citizenship card or birth certificate) for the flights.

Please reach out to K’äjit-in Zho Manager, Lisa Anderson at either 867-993-4201 or lisa.anderson@trondek.ca by January 29th to put your name, or your youths name on our list. Please include name, age, birthdate and address in your submission.

If we receive more than 12 names we will draw via the wheel of names to select participants.
