.
🏆The Arctic Inspiration Prize is an award-giving body, for the North by the North. This year prizes were presented to 10 projects that address the immediate needs of Northerners and their communities, as identified by Northerners themselves.
.
🐮The Therapeutic Farm School program is designed for K-12 students with disabilities in Yukon, particularly those with neurodiversity such as Autism, ADHD, and other cognitive delays. The program will encompass learning through experiential means, on the land from a First Nations perspective, with a combination of therapeutic supports.
.
🐴This type of learning will help students to practice self regulation strategies that can be generalized to a classroom setting and assist students in making more meaningful connections, supporting positive mental health, and learning experiences.
.
We can’t wait to see this project come to life and what it will mean to families. Learn more about the Arctic Inspiration Prize and see all the winners here: https://arcticinspirationprize.ca/finalists-laureates/
