We understand that many community members are waiting for assistance and we would like to assure those waiting that crews are working as quickly as possible to restore water to all units.

The Current situation:
• The water plant and wastewater plant are both stable. Water and wastewater systems have been stabilized.
• The break on 4th Avenue has been repaired. The break on 3rd Avenue has been isolated.
• Currently 13 city blocks in the affected area have units with frozen water lines and/or sewer lines.
• A boil water advisory has been issues for the City of Dawson public drinking water system.
• A boil water order is in place for restaurants, daycares, community centres, hospital, and schools.
If your household has frozen pipes:
-Do not turn off your bleeder
-Turn off water and power to your hot water tank
-All affected community members can call the Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in emergency number (867) 993-3880 with your address.
Available services:
• The Dawson Recreation Centre has access to water, bathrooms and showers and will be open Sunday from 11:00 am -7:00 pm Sunday and 10:00 am to 10:30 pm Monday to Saturday.
• Water jugs can be filled at the Rec Centre, Dawson Water Plant and Rock Creek.
• Rides are available for Elders until 10:00pm. Please call 867-993-3367 or 867-993-3568 for assistance.
If your water is restored:
-Monitor your water closely.
-Keep an eye out for sewer backup, if you see any issue call (867)993-3880 immediately. If this happens in the middle of the night, turn your water off immediately.
-If everything is working well, keep your bleeder on, or tap running.
-Call (867) 993-3880 to let our team know that your water has been restored.
