Everyone is invited to join us for a week of discussions, workshops, crafting sessions, and healing togetherness, presented in partnership by Tr’ondek Hwëch’in and the Willow Foundation. Please see our full schedule below with a host of meet ups in town from Monday, November 17 to Saturday, November 22.

Monday

Wellness Outreach Team – Circle of Care: Exploring Treatment Options for Our People

Our presentation will cover the process by which citizens access treatment, available treatment options, testimonials from individuals who have participated in treatment programs, local resources, aftercare services, and live Zoom sessions with representatives from various treatment centers to share what their facilities offer.

Tuesday

Jëje Zho Outreach Team – Remembrance Fire & Harm Reduction

Harm Reduction and Remembrance Fire with a Hotdog Roast. This will include supplies to make and display “tokens of remembrance” to remember those we have lost to Addiction, Harm Reduction information training and supplies, and access to Mobile Outreach supplies.

Wednesday

Ni’ehłyat, Nidähjì’ Team

Creating Christmas animal ornaments together. There will be a family treatment information table and an Outreach Worker for any questions families may have about family treatment.

Thursday

Women’s Shelter – Supporting Loved Ones Struggling with Substance Use

When it comes to supporting a loved one struggling with substance use, we all have our own unique skills. And, although remote, our community, the land, and people are well-resourced in many ways. What has worked for you when supporting someone? Let’s share and build our skills together. Join us for a warm meal, conversation, and door prizes.

Friday

Desire Rioux (Mental Health Nurse) – Wired for More: Understanding ADHD, Autism, and Addiction to Better Support the Neurodivergent Brain

Presentation with group discussion exploring ways to understand and support neurodivergent wiring—particularly ADHD and autism—as it relates to substance use and addiction.

Saturday

The Willow Foundation is hosting 2 events on Saturday Nov. 22nd

1:30 pm – 4:30 pm 

Creating Community Connection part 1 – Four Directions

During the afternoon session the Willow Foundation will run 4 stations to introduce the Community to 4 directions/initiatives that the organization is focusing on. These stations or directions will be informative and include some practical as well as hands on activities. Come on out and enjoy an afternoon with us!

 7 pm – 10pm 

Creating Community Connection – Part 2 -Speed Friendship and Sober Social

The evening session is focused on the importance of connection as it relates to mental health and addiction. After a short introduction there will be a fun filled activity meant to recognize the need for connection and to help create connections between community members. The latter part of the evening will be an informal social gathering with food and music where people can mingle and enjoy each other’s company. All are welcome to come and join us for fun evening!
