Salary: $120,000 CAD annual wage, with potential increase based on demonstrated efforts.

Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in established the Community Development Corporation (CDC) with the mandate to support citizens and citizen owned businesses, in addition to developing community projects and opportunities. The CDC was initiated and endorsed by the General Assembly, and will ensure that the First Nation and citizens are full participants in the economic opportunities in the Traditional Territory. The General Manager, reporting to the Board of Directors, is the leader and project manager who will ensure that the CDC delivers on its mandate. This position operates from Dawson City, in the TH Traditional Territory.

The General Manager is accountable for all aspects of the daily operations for the TH-CDC businesses and projects, in alignment with the strategic plan and annual budget. Support and participate in strategic and work planning processes. Provide management oversight and technical expertise on Projects and other Strategic Initiatives that promote and enhance community economic development opportunities for citizens, businesses and contractors of Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in. Working closely with the TH-CDC Board of Directors, the General Manager serves as TH-CDC’s principle agent in identifying, exploring, evaluating and implementing approved ‘For Profit & Non-Profit ’business ventures. Develop the TH-CDC Annual Budget, in keeping with the TH-CDC multi-year Strategic Plan. Oversee and coordinates day-to-day
administrative functions. Provide direct supervision to the Finance and Administrative Assistant,
Project Leads, employees and Contractors.

Essential qualifications:
• Degree in Business Administration/Economics/Community Development and/or an equivalent
combination of education, training and career experience may be considered.
• Minimum of 5 years ’work experience in a leadership role, relating to
economic/business/community development
• Experience developing and managing projects
• Experience in financial management, including budget development, expenditure
management, revenue generation, reporting and financial statement review.
• Experience working with a Board of Directors
• Experience working with a First Nation community and knowledge of TH and its Citizens
• Knowledge of the TH Land Claim and Self-Government agreements
• Knowledge of the economic opportunities and challenges in the TH Traditional Territory
• Project Management skills including the ability to plan, execute, and re-prioritize tasks and
functions in a diverse and evolving environment
• Strong communication, interpersonal and facilitation skills, including; report-writing, briefings,
presentations, conducting meetings and developing good relationships with staff, business
partners, Board of Directors, TH Government Departments, contractors, suppliers,
government officials, as well as community citizens / residents.

• Management and administrative skills, including; office management, information / records
management, procurement & inventory management, contract management, work-plan
development & management, and computer and technology proficiency.
• Ability to motivate and manage staff, contractors and consultants.

special meetings or unexpected operational requirements.
