The Community Safety Planning Initiative will host meetings on Wednesday, January 28, and Thursday, January 29, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the TH Hall. Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in Citizens, along with internal and external partners, are invited to attend and participate. These sessions will serve as the third and final community engagement meetings, focused on developing a comprehensive workplan to proactively implement community safety measures.
Discussions will centre on key priority areas, including substance misuse and mental health, housing, community supports and traditional values, and food security. The workplan will aim to support safety and wellbeing by keeping TH Citizens within their traditional territory, expanding diversion opportunities, and strengthening proactive, community and family-based programming.
Participants will also receive updates on the positive impacts of the new outreach program. A virtual meeting may be held prior to the final session to review outcomes from the first two engagement sessions. Community members are encouraged to attend, invite others, and take part—games and prizes will be available.
