Join us for Fall Hide Camp September 5 – 10, 2024 at Nänkäk Chèholay (R22)
Facilitated by Brian and Paulette Bird from Moosehide Factory Inc.
Day 1
– Set-up, fleshing moosehide
Day 2
-Framing and loosing fibres on soaked, brained rawhide
Day 3
-Stretching, scraping, softing, drying
Day 4
– Finish, dry scraping, hair side, flesh side
Day 5
– Patching, skirting, sewing, softening moosehide, tool making
If you are bringing your own hides, please make sure, you bring brains to make solution, canvas for skirting.
Cabins will be available for people staying the 5 days to learning hide tanning, including staff, facilitators, and cooks.
